Istanbul Police Department has announced that 41 are arrested out of the 235 people who were detained in the raids carried out between July 24 and August 7.
In Istanbul, 235 people were detained in the raids which were initiated under the name of struggle with DAESH but aimed at Kurdish activists and socialists. According to announcement of Istanbul Police Department, the number of detainees from DAESH is limited to 84. 82 were detained on the alleged grounds of being a member of PKK and YDG-H, 68 being a member of DHKP-C, MLKP and TKİP. In the raids, revolutionist Günay Özarslan was killed in extrajudicial execution.
Raids were carried out in 204 addresses according to data provided by Turkish Intelligence Agency and Intelligence Branch Office. It is stated in the Istanbul Police Department’s announcement that 41 were arrested. Rising concerns it is stated in the announcement that 52 of 84 detainees accused of being a member of DAESH, had foreign nationalities and were deported.
